70k a week apparently for Debuchy. Much more than I thought, to be fair. Then again, I have no idea what our wage structure is these days. What is Cresswell on? Less than that, I'd reckon.
I agree that Jenkinson at his best is quality. We forget that at the start of last season he still looked decent and even chipped in with a couple of goals. But Jenkinson at his worst (albeit we can probably forgive him when asked to play at left back) was terrible. Who is to say which we would get?

Why does everyone think we are much better than Jenkinson? I think he is good enough for our squad that is for sure. English and still young.
His first season at us he was immense and we are definitely not any better than we was that season as a team.
Deluded comes to mind.

Debuchy is on large wages, and hasn't been properly fit for about 18 months. Come back a few weeks ago and got injured again immediately.
Jenkinson I wouldn't mind, but only on a permanent transfer, when his head is right he's a decent player, but whilst he still has aspirations of playing for Arsenal then he can stay where he is.

Alf,
Well I agree Debuchy would be good. He's actually probably not on crazy wages given Arsenal's wage structure.
That and a proper defensive midfielder, which I know we are in agreement on, and we could be looking ok. Plus a decent and fit striker of course....

When we can get a free RB with a low salary and low value for money, sully and gold MAY consider it

The root of so many of our on field problems stem from not signing a right back.
I would have expected the announcement of a right back on this very day as the club have had since MAY to bring in a permanent solution.

Ignore me (most do :-) ) you were right it was Debauchy not Bellerin. My senility kicks in again.
Debauchy would come for first team appearances so long as we match his wages and pay a fee so no chance then ?

Bellerin is dreamland. Would probably actually work against us if that's true as I quite fancied we had a chance with Debuchy. Is Calum Chambers any good any more?
I did wonder about going back for Santon but it seems according to Wiki that there are some complicated squad issues why Inter may not want to lose him.

Smith would be a good signing.
How the fuck is Joey O'Brien only 30? He must have been uncharacteristically young when BFS gave him his debut. Seems to have been around for ages, and also looks about 50.
Of course, we do have a world cup winning right back in our squad...unfortunately he can no longer run. I read an interview with him after the Arsenal game where he said he felt he did well and pointed out that he made the most sprints of anyone in the game. The only thing I could think was 'if that was sprinting for you, give it up son'.

Bellerin reportedly fallen out with Wenger but unfortunately the source is TalkSh*te this lunch time.
He would be one for the longer term ?

Hopefully we sign one in the next week. We fucking need one.
To be fair Nordveidt has played ok there the last couple of games against some decent and pacy/tricky players.
The only minus with that is that Bilic will just leave him there as he's 'adequate'. That's really been our problem with right back. Just having someone who can do a job instead of a specialist player.
However, if the right player isn't available for the right price, then there's no point in spending for the sake of it on the wrong player.

i'd rather save the wages and loan fee for someone else............ dont see the point in wasting money on another right back who cant defend.

Bilic said he believes in his current squad but if he can bring in 2 or 3 players that would improve the team then they'd do it. It's exactly what he should be saying. Obviously we hope he doesn't really think the team is good enough but he can't say that on camera.
